Summer Opportunities

FULL-TIME SUMMER CLASSROOM TEACHER - LOWER SCHOOL

Baltimore Lab School seeks to fill a full-time Lower School Classroom Teacher position for the Summer 2024 Program.

BLS Summer Staff hours are from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Summer school runs from July 1st through July 26th (closed July 4th and 5th for the holiday). Once a week, staff will supervise students on an excursion. The other four days each week, students will receive instruction. Lower School teachers plan and teach lessons in reading, writing, math, and movement (fitness-based class) to a group of either Grades 1-3 or Grades 4-5. The teacher will have 2 planning periods during the day. There is 1 available Lower School Classroom Teacher position.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid teacher's certificate in the area of General Special Education 1-8, in another area with eligibility to add a General Special Education endorsement, or in the process of having an application for certification reviewed by the Maryland State Department of Education.
  • Working knowledge and implementation of IEPs.

FULL-TIME SUMMER Instructional Assistant (IA) - LOWER SCHOOL

Baltimore Lab School seeks to fill a full-time Lower School instructional assistant (IA) position for the Summer 2024 Program.

BLS Summer Staff hours are from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Summer school runs from July 1st through July 26th (closed July 4th and 5th for the holiday). Once a week, staff will supervise students on an excursion. The other four days each week, students will receive instruction. Lower School IAs support four classes in either Grades 1-3 or 4-5 and will have two breaks during the day. There is 1 available Lower School IA position.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required).
  • Valid teacher's certificate in the area of General Special Education 1-8, in another area with eligibility to add a General Special Education endorsement, or in the process of having an application for certification reviewed by the Maryland State Department of Education (preferred).
  • Working knowledge and implementation of IEPs.

FULL-TIME SUMMER MATH TEACHER - HIGH SCHool

Baltimore Lab School is seeking 1 full-time High School Math teacher (Grades 9-12) for the Summer 2024 Program.

BLS Summer Staff hours are from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Summer school runs from July 1st through July 26th (closed July 4th and 5th for the holiday). Once a week, staff will supervise students on an excursion. The other four days each week, students will receive instruction. The Math teacher will have four classes across grades 9-12 and two planning periods. There is 1 available High School Math teacher position.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid teacher's certificate in the area of General Special Education 7-12 (or 6-Adult), in another area with eligibility to add a General Special Education endorsement, or in the process of having an application for certification reviewed by the Maryland State Department of Education.
  • Working knowledge and implementation of IEPs.
