After School

LEARNING & FUN CONTINUE AFTER SCHOOL

Baltimore Lab School offers several after school programs including Dragon Club (After Care), After School Clubs, Robotics, Adventure-Based Learning Experiences, and Athletics. Convenient for working parents and stimulating for students, our after school programs are popular with students of all ages.

DRAGON CLUB

Dragon Club is after school care for students 6-18 years old. The program runs on regularly-scheduled school days from 3:30 - 5:30 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 12:30 - 5:30 PM on Wednesdays. Students are given time to start their homework, play board games, watch movies, do arts and crafts, and play outside.

To register your child for Dragon Club, families should fill out the online Dragon Club Registration Form before the start of the school year (see registration forms on the right side of this page). For questions about options, rates, and mid-year registration, please contact Ashley Gladfelter at ashley.gladfelter@baltimorelabschool.org. For questions about billing, please contact Joan Kruszon at joan.kruszon@baltimorelabschool.org or 410-735-0035.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Each year, Baltimore Lab School offers a variety of after-school clubs. Clubs are driven by student and faculty interests and we encourage students to explore their interests and create new clubs with a faculty or staff member!

ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING EXPERIENCES

Adventure-based learning experiences promote self-confidence and self-esteem and improve critical life skills such as teamwork and leadership. These adventures are valued as an important tool for personal physical, emotional, and social growth. Currently, Baltimore Lab School offers several sessions of Swimming Adventures and Rock Climbing.

Swimming Adventures is held at The Y in Waverly (Weinberg) on 33rd Street. Rock Climbing is held at climbing facilities in Hampden and Timonium. For questions about dates, session availability, and rates, please contact Patti Child at patricia.child@baltimorelabschool.org.

ATHLETICS

Students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to challenge themselves, engage in appropriate competition, and hone their social skills by joining one of our interscholastic sports teams. Baltimore Lab School is a member of the Chesapeake Conference for Interscholastic Sports. Depending on their grade level, our students can choose to participate in golf, pickleball/tennis, basketball, tennis, cross-country, track and field, disc sports, soccer, and competitive swimming. Our sports teams practice and compete after school, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays, 3:30 - 5:00 PM. For questions about athletics offerings during the 2023-2024 school year, please contact Evan Parker at evan.parker@baltimorelabschool.org.
